Cover Care Instructions
|
| |
| All my covers are made with a hidden or outer layer of 2 mil PUL. When you first get your new WWB covers, please wash and dry them on hot at least once.
This will assist in sealing the needle holes created in the PUL during the sewing process.

| PUL stands for Polyurethane Laminate. PUL is a polyester fabric that has been laminated on one side with a clear polyurethane coating. This thin layer of laminate provides a waterproof barrier, while allowing the fabric to remain breathable. This process was originally developed for the medical industry to prevent bodily fluids from contaminating health care workers. This material was made to be autoclavable, so it can withstand very high temperatures. If your covers do begin to wick after frequent usage, try bouncing them in the dryer with a fabric softener sheet. This should assist in creating a water proofing barrier...please do not do this with your diapers or pockets! Another option would be to purchase a waterproofing spray such as Nikwax and apply to outer shell as needed.

The washing routine we recommend is to first do a cold rinse w/ no detergent, then a hot wash/cold rinse cycle w/ approximately 1 tablespoon detergent, ending with another rinse to ensure all the detergent has been removed from your diapers.
If you have hard water, I've heard (never personally experienced) adding vinegar or Calgon to the intitial rinse may help neutralize the minerals.

| To dry, you can either bounce them in your dryer or hang dry, whichever, you prefer.
